IGA is Australia’s leading network of independently owned supermarkets, with a strong focus on local communities. In Tasmania, IGA stores operate under the Homegrown Tasmanian initiative, championing locally grown and made products, supporting regional suppliers, and creating stores that feel genuinely part of their community.
In March 2026, the new IGA Inveresk store opened its doors, offering a full-service supermarket experience to the Launceston community. Think Big was extremely proud to be part of this project, helping the store make a strong, distinctive visual impact both inside and out.
Pylon Signage with 3D Illuminated Letters
The large pylon sign features 3D lettering “INVERESK”, vertically mounted on both sides, that was both, manufactured and installed by our team.
The carrier panel for the Inveresk 3D illuminated lettering on the pylon was sourced from Skyline Roofing to match the cladding used by the builders. Skyline fabricated and folded the panel, and our talented team then built a custom frame to mount it securely in place. This approach allowed the lettering to blend seamlessly with the background while also providing a concealed cavity for wiring, meaning we only required a single feed running down the pylon to the transformers located at the base. The finished look? A glowing statement piece that makes the store pop day or night, turning heads from the street.
Playful, Produce-Themed Interiors with Dimensional Impact
Inside the store, our design team transformed the produce sections into an engaging visual experience. To make the fun food graphics truly pop, we printed the designs on the Oce Colorado 1650 using premium wrap vinyl with matte laminate applied to ACM. To take it up a notch, we added flat-cut, 20mm white PVC letters mounted directly onto these custom-designed panels, giving the store depth, texture, and a premium tactile feel that instantly draws the eye.
Clear & Stylish Wayfinding
Glass doors received cut vinyl signage for opening hours, keeping communication simple, clean, and professional while still blending seamlessly with the store’s aesthetic. This clarity was extended into the surrounding space with car park signage, ensuring customers could easily navigate entry, parking, and access points. Together, these elements create a cohesive wayfinding system that enhances the customer experience from arrival through to entry.
Extending the Design to Neighbours
Right next door, Charlie’s Cafe got a signage upgrade too. We applied their logo in gloss-laminated vinyl onto an aluminium composite panel, giving the café a polished, welcoming presence that complements the store.
Next time you’re in Inveresk, pop in and check out the bold pylon with illuminated lettering, produce-themed feature wall, and glowing storefront, a perfect example of how thoughtful, creative signage can make a store truly unforgettable.
